Some educators leave a lasting mark on a school, and Blake Glass has certainly done that at Western Hills High School.
After serving as head choir director since 2020, Glass is leaving Western Hills to become the new Head Choir Director at Aledo High School.
During his six years with Fort Worth ISD, Glass helped transform the Western Hills choir program, quadrupling enrollment and guiding students to remarkable success. Under his leadership, the program produced 10 Texas All-State Choir members and earned 11 UIL Sweepstakes awards. His impact extended beyond the choir room, earning him recognition as Western Hills High School’s Teacher of the Year for 2025-26.
Glass also served as a student council advisor and remained active in the North Texas music community through church music leadership and youth choral organizations.
In announcing his move to Aledo ISD, Glass said he looks forward to building a program where students can grow as singers, musicians, and individuals.
While Aledo gains a highly respected music educator, many in the Western Hills community are understandably sad to see him go. His influence will continue to be felt through the students he mentored, the program he helped build, and the culture of excellence he established.
Western Hills wishes Blake Glass continued success as he begins this next chapter, and Aledo is gaining a director with a proven record of helping students thrive.
