A corner lot in Benbrook is turning into a neighborhood gathering spot later this month, as local residents Ashley and Jesse Molina invite the community out for an evening focused on food, family, and getting to know the people who live nearby.
The “Meet Your Neighbor” event is scheduled for Friday, May 29, from 3 to 8 p.m. at 1101 Bryant Street. Organizers say the goal is simple: bring neighbors together in a relaxed setting where families can connect, kids can play, and conversations can happen naturally.
Food will be provided, including grilled hot dogs, chicken tacos, chips, and cold water, though neighbors are also welcome to bring something for the grill or a favorite side dish if they’d like.
The family-friendly event is also expected to include games, music, activities for kids, a zip line attraction, raffle giveaways, and low-cost chair massages.
In a time when many people barely know the names of those living next door, gatherings like this are becoming a reminder that community often starts with something simple: showing up, sharing a meal, and spending time together.
