What is usually a week filled with countdowns, celebrations, and senior traditions has come with a few unexpected changes for Benbrook’s Class of 2026.
In a social media update shared by the BMHS 2026 Seniors account, students and families were informed that several Senior Week events have been adjusted following the recent TEA takeover affecting the district. Organizers asked families to disregard previously shared schedules and instead follow the newly updated plans for next week’s activities.
Despite the changes, many of the traditions seniors look forward to are still moving forward.
The updated schedule includes Monday’s Senior Breakfast, Decision Day celebration, and yearbook signing, followed by Tuesday by Elementary Walks across the district. Wednesday will feature Senior Field Day and the annual senior sunset gathering at the BMHS football field. Thursday remains a full day dedicated to final farewells, tile painting, and cap decorating before students officially begin summer break on Friday.
The post thanked families and students for their patience and understanding as adjustments continue during an already emotional season for graduating seniors.
For many Benbrook families, the final week of high school is more than just a calendar of events. It is the closing chapter of years spent in classrooms, hallways, football games, fine arts performances, and friendships that helped shape this graduating class.
