There is something relaxing about slowing down for a couple of hours, getting creative, and making something with your own hands. Later this month, the Benbrook Public Library is giving local adults a chance to do exactly that.
On Tuesday, May 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the library will host a hands-on ceramic coaster workshop inspired by colorful Mexican Talavera designs. Participants will hand-paint ceramic tiles into custom coasters to take home.
The event is open to adults ages 18 and older. Registration is required, and all materials will be provided.
For many Benbrook residents, the library has become more than a place to check out books. It has quietly turned into one of the city’s go-to gathering spots for creative classes, community events, and opportunities to meet neighbors while trying something new.
More upcoming programs and events can be found at benbrooklibrary.org/events/month.
The library is located at 1065 Mercedes St. in Benbrook. For additional information, please visit the Benbrook Public Library website at benbrooklibrary.org, email reference@benbrooklibrary.org, or call 817-249-6632.
