Benbrook Families Invited to Explore the Night Sky at Summer Star Party.

For one evening in June, Benbrook families will have the chance to trade screens and streetlights for stars, telescopes, and a closer look at the universe.

The Benbrook Public Library is partnering with the Fort Worth Astronomical Society for its “Explore the Universe Family Star Party,” a special Summer Reading event designed to make space and science fun and accessible for all ages.

Set for Thursday, June 25, from 8:30 to 10 p.m., the event will feature guided telescope observations, kid-friendly astronomy talks, and opportunities for families to ask questions about planets, stars, and the night sky. Organizers say the goal is simple: spark curiosity and encourage lifelong learning through hands-on discovery.

For many kids, it may be their first chance to look through a telescope. For parents, it is an opportunity to slow down for a summer evening and experience something memorable together.

Additional event details can be found at Explore the Universe Family Star Party Event Page.
