What started as a routine scramble at Benbrook Par 3 turned into a reminder of both competition and community.
Course organizers shared results from the April 29 scramble, but not before taking a moment to thank their team.
Staff members Owen, Camila, and Meranda were recognized for stepping up during a difficult personal situation, helping keep things running while the owners dealt with a family emergency. It was a quiet but meaningful example of people showing up for one another when it matters most.
On the course, though, the energy stayed high. One of the standout moments came from Lukey, who delivered a memorable chip-in to close things out. It was not the first time he has pulled off a last-minute shot like that, and it drew plenty of attention from those watching.
When the scores were tallied, teams posted strong numbers, including a top finish at six under par. Final standings for first, second, and third place reflected a competitive field and a good day of play.
Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course continues to be a spot where the game brings people together, whether it is for a scramble, a quick round, or moments that go beyond the scorecard.
