Sometimes a new restaurant is more than just a place to grab dinner. Sometimes it feels like a sign that a city is growing into itself.
That is the feeling many locals are getting with the grand opening of Tacos & Avocados, one of Benbrook’s newest restaurant additions and one that has been a long time coming.
Local Realtor Josh Harville recently stopped by to try the new spot and came away impressed not just by the food, but by the overall experience.
On the table were shiner-braised brisket tacos, a classic bean-and-cheese burrito for his daughter Amelia, and, of course, guacamole to start.
The food was delivered, but Harville said the atmosphere stood out most.
“It’s got a more upscale vibe than you’d expect, clean, intentional, and super welcoming,” he shared. He also pointed to the staff, describing them as friendly, attentive, and ready from the moment guests walked in.
For many residents, the opening represents something bigger than tacos and burritos.
According to Harville, the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation has spent more than a decade working to bring more restaurant options to that part of the city. Tacos & Avocados is one of the visible results of that long-term effort.
It is the kind of progress people notice and appreciate. More local dining options bring more visitors, more investment, and often a stronger sense of community pride.
Just another reminder that growth does not always happen loudly. Sometimes it shows up, one plate at a time.
