It only took one race for four Benbrook runners to leave their mark on the record books.
At this week’s district meet, Jayden Hall, Quentin Thomas, Evan Kramer, and Jayden Deane set a new school record in the boys’ 4×200 relay, finishing in 1:30.15.
The time earned them second place, just behind Fort Worth Dunbar’s winning mark of 1:30.04, and shaved nearly a full second off the previous Benbrook record of 1:31.00 set in 2019.
For Deane, it adds to what has already been a strong season. The sophomore previously set the school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.32, the fastest recorded in program history.
With records already falling, the group now turns its focus to the Area Meet in Springtown on April 16, carrying both speed and confidence into the next round.
