What started as a growing concern along the 2871 corridor turned into a moment residents will likely remember.
On March 31, the Fort Worth City Council voted to delay an Economic Development Agreement tied to Edged Data Centers, pausing a decision that had drawn increasing attention from nearby neighborhoods. The delay followed a strong showing by local residents, many of whom were connected through the 2871 Community Coalition.
Mayor Mattie Parker publicly acknowledged the group during the meeting, noting how neighbors had organized and spoken up. Several council members also pointed to a need for clearer rules and stronger oversight around data center development before moving forward.
Krista Erbe, founder of 2871Community.org, described the vote as an important step, while noting the situation is still ongoing. The proposed project could still move forward without the agreement, something residents have been aware of from the start.
For those who showed up, spoke, or followed along, the delay reflects the impact of a community that pays attention and gets involved.
