Spring weather may have taken a turn Friday night, but the Benbrook Lady Bobcats stayed right on course.

Riding a three-game win streak, the Lady Bobcats wasted no time setting the tone against the Southwest Lady Raiders. By the end of the first inning, the Lady Bobcats had already built a 9-1 lead behind a mix of patience at the plate and timely hitting.

They kept their foot down in the second. Hits, walks, and a few costly Lady Raider errors turned into an 11-run inning, stretching the lead to 20-1 before Southwest could catch its breath.

By the third, the Lady Bobcats added a few more runs to put the game out of reach at 23-1.

In the circle, Natalya Muzquiz delivered a steady outing, allowing just four hits and three runs over three innings while striking out five to secure the 23-3 win over the Lady Raiders to remain undefeated in district play.

At the plate, the lineup produced from top to bottom. Muzquiz and Mya Vasquez each collected two hits, while Esparanza Garza drove in four runs from the nine spot. The team showed discipline as well, drawing 11 walks and swiping seven bases to keep pressure on throughout the night.

It was also a milestone moment for Vasquez, who surpassed 100 career RBIs and finished the night at 102.

With the win, the Lady Bobcats move to 14-11 overall and remain unbeaten in district play at 8-0, holding first place. Next up is a crosstown matchup against Western Hills Lady Cougars, set for Tuesday at 6 pm.
