BENBROOK, TX — Drivers traveling between Benbrook and Willow Park will start seeing changes this week as TxDOT moves forward with updates along the I-20 and I-30 corridor.
The work, part of a larger effort to improve traffic flow near FM 1187 and FM 3325, brings both short-term disruptions and long-term changes that commuters will need to adjust to.

Overnight lane closures are scheduled March 16 through 20 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in both directions of I-20 as crews install barriers and update pavement markings. These closures are expected to slow traffic during evening and early morning hours.
Beginning March 17, one of the biggest changes takes effect. The current westbound exit from I-20 to FM 1187 and FM 3325 will permanently close. Drivers will instead use a newly configured exit located closer to the I-30 interchange.
Just days later, on March 19, eastbound drivers entering I-20 from FM 1187 and FM 3325 will also shift to a new entrance ramp positioned further east along the frontage road.
While the construction is outside Benbrook city limits, the impact will be felt by many who rely on this stretch for daily commutes. Adjusting routes and allowing extra time will be key as the new traffic patterns settle in.
