Benbrook residents looking to clear out old electronics and sensitive paperwork will have a convenient opportunity this weekend.
The City of Benbrook is hosting a free E Waste and Shred Event on Saturday, March 14, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, or until collection trucks reach capacity. The event will take place in the back parking lot behind the Benbrook Community Center and YMCA at 1899 Winscott Road near Dutch Branch Park.
Residents can bring a range of household electronics for recycling, including televisions, computers, printers, gaming systems, fax machines, vacuum cleaners, and small appliances. Hard drives from computers will be destroyed during the recycling process.
A mobile shredding truck from Sierra Shred will also be on site to securely shred personal documents. Organizers ask residents to limit shredding to a reasonable household amount and to avoid including plastic items such as credit cards or compact discs with paper documents.
Proof of Benbrook residency, such as a driverโs license or utility bill, will be required to participate.
Residents with questions about the event can contact Cecilia Ventura at 817-249-6008. More information about City of Benbrook services and events is available at https://www.benbrook-tx.gov.
