Benbrook’s Lindley Earns Player of the Week Nomination.

Benbrook has another reason to cheer for the Lady Bobcats.

Benbrook Middle High School junior Maelee Lindley has been nominated for the Fort Worth Star Telegram High School Softball Player of the Week after a standout performance at the Springtown and Mineral Wells Softball Tournament.

Lindley helped lead the Lady Bobcats to an 13-8 win over the Arlington Heights Lady Yellowjackets with a strong showing at the plate, recording three hits and driving in three runs.

Now the next part is up to the community.

The weekly recognition highlights top performances across the area, and voting is open to the public. Benbrook residents, classmates, and fans can help support Lindley by casting a vote before the poll closes at 11 a.m. Friday.

Community votes help determine the winner and also shine a spotlight on local student athletes who are making an impact on the field.

The Star Telegram also accepts nominations each week. Coaches, parents, and fans can submit a player along with their statistics to high school sports editor Charles Baggarly.

For Benbrook, it is another proud moment for a student athlete representing the Lady Bobcats with skill, effort, and a big game when it mattered most.
