In an emergency, preparation can make all the difference.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Alliance for Children to offer a free Active Shooter Response Training on November 22 from 8 AM to noon. The session will take place at Alliance for Children, 3609 Marquita Drive in Fort Worth.
The training is designed specifically for civilians and focuses on practical steps individuals can take during an active shooter event. Participants will learn the nationally recognized AVOID, DENY, DEFEND strategy, along with an overview of how law enforcement responds and what options civilians have when seconds matter.
Organizers note that the content is rated PG 13. No firearms will be permitted, and attendees must be 18 or older.
For Benbrook residents who want to better understand emergency response and personal safety, this course offers a structured, law-enforcement-led approach to a difficult yet important topic. Seating is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
