Friday morning brought focus, confidence, and plenty of school pride to Waverly Park Elementary School as students took the stage for the campus Dual Language Spelling Bee.
Participants impressed the crowd with poise and determination, working through each round with care and composure. Giselle Ferrusca earned the top spot, with Angel Montoya finishing as runner-up after a strong showing.
The event highlighted more than spelling skills. It reflected the courage and commitment students bring to learning in multiple languages, along with the support they receive at home and at school.
Families filled the room with encouragement, underscoring the role parents play in helping students grow and succeed. It was a proud morning for the Tigers and a reminder of how much these young learners are capable of when given the opportunity to shine.
