With an Extreme Cold Watch in effect, the City of Fort Worth is activating resources to help neighbors stay safe and warm as temperatures drop across the region.
Emergency overnight overflow shelters are available for individuals experiencing homelessness when conditions worsen, and existing shelters reach capacity. Anyone seeking shelter is encouraged to start with a regular emergency shelter or call 311 and press 9 to check whether overflow sheltering has been activated.
The city is urging residents to share this information with anyone who may need it as cold weather sets in.
Details about emergency sheltering are available at https://bit.ly/4jZw7O8. Additional cold-weather updates can be found at https://bit.ly/3YSqAza.
As winter weather tightens its grip, timely information and community awareness can help ensure fewer people are left out in the cold.
