The Benbrook Lady Bobcats entered Saturday with momentum on their side after strong wins over Mineral Wells and Trimble Tech at the Brewer Bear Cave Classic. A tournament title was within reach, but the final match proved to be a tough one.

On a cold but clear day, the Lady Bobcats were edged out 1-0 by the Azle Hornets in a tightly contested showdown. Azle came in with extra motivation, remembering their previous loss to Benbrook back in January 2022, and made the most of a defensive battle that left little room for error.
