Robot Park and Castle Park Still Open as Upgrade Timeline Is Clarified.

Benbrook families can continue to enjoy Robot Park and Castle Park for now.

The City of Benbrook confirmed both parks remain open and accessible despite recent questions about possible closures tied to upcoming playground upgrades. City officials say no construction has started, and the parks will stay open until work officially begins.

Some confusion stemmed from a listing on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website, which shows a project start date of January 1, 2026 and a completion date of July 1, 2026, for the Castle Park and Robot Park equipment replacement.

However, the City clarified on social media that construction is currently anticipated to begin in Spring 2026, not January. Officials say additional updates will be shared as the project schedule is finalized.

When construction begins, the parks will be transformed into new all-inclusive playgrounds designed to allow children of all abilities to play and explore together. The goal is to create spaces where accessibility and inclusion are built into every feature.
