Pilot Lifts Off the Next Generation With Free Intro Flights.

A generous offer from a local pilot turned into an unforgettable moment for several families this week. With a career move ahead and his final month flying smaller aircraft, a neighborhood aviator opened the door for kids curious about aviation to see what flying is really like.

The response was immediate. Parents shared stories, asked questions, and lined up opportunities for their kids to learn. A special shout-out followed for Chris White (on the right in picture), whose patient teaching style helped one young flyer take the controls for the first time and leave the runway grinning from ear to ear.

By the end of the day, two students were selected for Saturday flights, with more conversations promised as time allows. The pilot made it clear this was about more than a single ride. He welcomed ongoing questions about aviation careers and encouraged families to keep the curiosity alive.

Flights depart from Arlington Municipal Airport, so families must be able to get there. Beyond that, the only requirement is a sense of wonder and a willingness to learn.

In a town where encouragement often comes in quiet ways, this simple act of generosity reminded many that inspiration sometimes starts with a short climb above the neighborhood and a view that changes everything.
