A serious crash Sunday night prompted a swift emergency response just minutes south of Benbrook.
According to the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department, the accident occurred around 7:45 pm on US 377 and resulted in one patient being transported by air medical.
Bear Creek Community Church played a key role by allowing first responders to use its large parking lot as a safe landing zone for the helicopter. That coordination helped limit traffic disruption along US 377 while crews worked the scene.
Investigators are continuing to review the crash to determine the cause. First responders thanked the church for its cooperation and emphasized how community partnerships help keep emergency responses efficient and safe during critical situations.
