A years-long concern for many Trinity Estates neighbors just received official confirmation from the State of Texas.
Longtime Benbrook resident Greg Clem shared that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued a violation tied to ongoing dust pollution at the Trinity Estates Phase 3 construction site.
According to the state’s report, the dust emissions were not only excessive but occurred often enough to interfere with the regular use and enjoyment of nearby homes. Citizen-collected evidence, paired with site inspections, showed that dust control measures were not consistently used, resulting in conditions the state determined were beyond what is typical for construction activity.
The violation requires the developer to implement sufficient corrective measures to prevent dust from affecting surrounding properties. A written plan outlining those steps must be submitted to the state within 30 days.
For residents who have been dealing with the day-to-day effects of these conditions, the ruling feels like progress. It also sets the stage for closer oversight as work continues.
More information on the case can be found through TCEQ’s public documents or by contacting the agency directly at tceq.texas.gov.
