The holiday season is already taking shape at the Benbrook Community YMCA, where this year’s Angel Tree is filled with the names of local children who could use a little extra support.
Staff say many tags are still awaiting selection, and the deadline to return gifts is approaching on November 28.
The YMCA is partnering with The Parenting Center to ensure families in need have gifts under the tree this year. Anyone who wants to participate can stop by the welcome desk, select a child from the tree and pick up a wish sheet with details. Shoppers then return the unwrapped gifts to the YMCA before the deadline, where they will be picked up by families later.
For those with limited time, the YMCA also offers the option to adopt a child digitally by scanning the QR code at the display.
The Angel Tree runs from November 1 through November 28, and every tag removed brings a local family one step closer to a brighter holiday.
