Cougar Pride Alliance Launches Food Bag Initiative to Support Families During SNAP Cuts.

With the ongoing government shutdown and reduced SNAP benefits affecting many local families, Cougar Pride Alliance, led by Patty Pressley, is stepping up to provide consistent food support through its Christmas Food Bag initiative.

The group plans to assemble and distribute food bags as long as the need persists, with donations from residents, local partners, and community organizations. Items range from everyday staples like peanut butter, canned pasta, and rice to family favorites such as mac and cheese, instant potatoes, and ramen noodles.

Donations can be dropped off at Cougar Corner or the main office, and monetary contributions are also welcome to help purchase food in bulk. The team is partnering with LVT Rise to extend its reach and ensure families across the area have access to essential groceries throughout the winter months.
