Benbrook Middle-High School students are stepping up this October to help families in need through a campus-wide food drive. Every Wednesday throughout the month, students can bring canned or nonperishable food items to the front of the school for collection.
The pantry wish list includes everyday staples like canned chicken, soup, corn, green beans, oatmeal, and jelly, as well as seasonal items such as stuffing, gravy, and sweet potatoes. These donations will directly support local families facing food insecurity as the holiday season approaches.
To encourage participation, students who contribute on Wednesdays will receive a free dress pass for that day. The only rule is no pajamas.
The effort highlights how small acts, like bringing a can of vegetables or a box of mashed potatoes, can make a big difference for neighbors in need.
