Western Hills High School’s AFJROTC Cougar Cadets brought pride to Benbrook and beyond last week as they presented the Colors of the United States and Germany during Fort Worth’s annual Oktoberfest celebration.
The cadets performed on two consecutive nights, showcasing discipline, respect, and precision before enthusiastic crowds.
Wednesday, Corporate Night
The evening included a special appearance by District Superintendent Dr. Molinar, who watched as Cadet Frances Hickey commanded the Color Guard alongside Nemganga Muya, Jada Keith, and Devonne Gould.
Thursday, Community Night
With an even larger audience on hand, Cadet Isabel Alcala commanded a team that included Mark Angel, Karina Ramos, and once again, Devonne Gould. The crowd stood in honor as both the American and German national anthems played during the presentation.
For the Cougar Cadets, the experience was more than a performance. It was an opportunity to represent Western Hills High School with dignity on one of Fort Worth’s biggest cultural stages. Their presence stood as a reminder of the values of service, leadership, and community that the JROTC program instills in its students.
