The Benbrook Bobcats made a strong showing at the Leonard Basketball Tournament, earning wins over the Ford Panthers and Howe Bulldogs to advance to the third round held earlier today.
However, their journey ended in a hard-fought 49-44 loss to the Perrin-Whitt Pirates, who went on to claim the tournament championship with a decisive 56-36 victory over Blue Ridge.
The Bobcats now sit at 11-10 for the season and 1-1 in district play. After a well-deserved holiday break, they’ll return to action on January 7, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., facing the Carter-Riverside Eagles as they look to bounce back in district competition.
While the tournament didn’t end in their favor, the Bobcats’ effort and determination were commendable. Here’s wishing the team and their supporters a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
