Western Hills High School took center stage last week as it hosted the first round of FWISD All-State Choir auditions.
Nearly 500 students from about 25 schools filled the halls, but it was WHHS that shined brightest. Nine Cougars earned spots in the Region Honor Choir and advanced to Pre-Area, while seven more secured places in the Region Treble Honor Choir.
The event ran like clockwork thanks to Choir Director Blake Glass, with strong support from fellow directors, judges, Assistant Principal Mrs. Bowers, alumni, student volunteers, and the WHHS Choir Boosters, who even kept spirits high with a well-run concession stand.
Local sponsors, including Chicken Express of Benbrook, Nothing Bundt Cakes on Camp Bowie, and LVT Rise/Cougar Pride Alliance, joined with community members to help make the day a success.
With this strong start, the 2025-26 WHHS Choir program is already demonstrating that it has the talent and teamwork to sustain its momentum throughout the year.
