Unlocking Family Memories Today at Retro Lab Presentation.

Ever wondered what to do with those old VHS tapes, film reels, or slides collecting dust in the closet?

The Fort Worth Genealogical Society, in partnership with the Fort Worth Library, is hosting a special program to answer just that.

Today, August 30, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Fort Worth History Center (501 E. Bolt St.), genealogy librarian Mark Dellenbaugh from Arlington Public Libraries will introduce the concept of the Retro Lab. This unique resource, housed at the Geo. W. Hawkes Library in Arlington, helps families preserve their precious memories by converting outdated media into digital formats.

Dellenbaugh, who oversees the Genealogy and Local History Collection in Arlington, specializes in preserving and curating local history through digitization and oral history projects. With years of experience and a passion for helping families connect with their past, he will share insights and practical solutions for saving cherished family treasures.

Parking is free, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early for additional research time at the library.
