FDA Recalls Over 32,000 Pounds of Pecan Products Over Salmonella Risk.

If pecans are your favorite snack or ingredient, it’s time to check your pantry.

More than 32,000 pounds of pecan products from Navarro Pecan Holdings have been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. The FDA classified this as a Class I risk, meaning exposure could cause serious illness or even death.

The recall affects several pecan varieties with best-by dates between May and June 2025 and includes items like Fancy Medium and Small Pecan Pieces, as well as Fancy Halves. These products were distributed across parts of the U.S. and internationally.

Salmonella infection can lead to diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain, so it’s essential to avoid these products until the issue is resolved.

Check the FDA website for specific lot numbers before consuming pecans from these categories.
