Closer Groceries Coming, But Ventana Still Waits.

While Walsh celebrates the news of a new H-E-B coming to their neighborhood, residents in nearby Ventana are feeling a bit left out.

With Walsh Ranch continuing to grow at a rapid pace, it makes sense why the grocery giant would stake its next claim there. Still, for folks in Ventana and surrounding areas, the store will be closer than Weatherford, and that’s something.

Of course, getting there may be another story. Traffic heading west is a regular headache, especially along I-20. Some locals suggest taking 2871 north to Camp Bowie then jumping on I-30 as a smoother route.

Others say they would rather see a fire station pop up nearby before another grocery option. Safety first, after all.

That said, there’s buzz about future development closer to home. A grocery store is expected to be part of the upcoming Discovery golf project near Highway 377. While details are still unofficial, many are speculating that a Fresh by Brookshire’s could be on the horizon.

So while H-E-B may be heading west, Ventana’s turn might not be far behind.
