Residents along Benbrook Terrace spent most of Sunday without power after a transformer blew during a morning storm. The outage began around 10:30 a.m., and according to Oncor, full restoration wasn’t expected until close to 8 p.m.
Some neighbors reported hearing a loud boom as winds picked up ahead of the storm. Others pointed out that no repair trucks had been spotted all day, raising questions about the delay. According to Oncor’s outage map, the issue was caused by vegetation, meaning strong winds likely knocked tree limbs into the transformer.
In these cases, crews often need to bring in tree trimming teams before they can safely replace or repair equipment. And with scattered outages all across the DFW area, response times are stretched thin.
