Benbrook residents, it’s time to tackle those tech junk drawers and overflowing file cabinets.
The city’s free E-Waste and Shred Event is happening Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Dutch Branch Park, from 8 a.m. to noon or until the trucks are full.
Held in the back parking lot of the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA (1899 Winscott Rd.), the event is a safe and simple way to recycle unwanted electronics and securely destroy sensitive documents. Proof of residency is required, so bring a driver’s license or utility bill.
Acceptable items include old TVs (non-CRT), phones, computers, gaming systems, appliances, and more. Innovative Electronics will handle recycling, including secure hard drive destruction. Sierra Shred will shred household documents onsite. Just leave out plastic cards or discs and limit quantities to personal use.
