Another Strikeout: Rain Washes Out Yet Another Weekend for Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball.

Benbrook’s youth baseball and softball season just can’t catch a break.

The Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association (BYBSA) announced today that all games scheduled for tomorrow are officially canceled—again—due to unplayable field conditions at Dutch Branch Park and the Athletic Complex.

This marks yet another rainout in a growing string of frustrating weekends for players, parents, and coaches. The fields may be quiet, but the disappointment is loud.

While BYBSA handles scheduling and communication, the final call on field playability rests with the City of Benbrook, which owns and maintains the facilities. With safety as the top priority, the city has repeatedly closed the fields due to saturation and standing water that make them dangerous for young athletes.

There’s no sugarcoating it—frustration is building across the baseball and softball community. Still, BYBSA continues to urge patience as they navigate unpredictable weather, tight scheduling, and limited control over field conditions.

At this point, Benbrook families are left hoping for what’s been hardest to come by this season: a sunny, playable weekend.
