Train Trouble on Winscott: Minor Derailment Causes Brief Traffic Disruption in Benbrook.

Benbrook drivers got an unexpected twist during their late afternoon commute Thursday when a Union Pacific train briefly derailed just north of Loop 820 on Winscott Road.

While the cause of the derailment remains unknown, the scene wasn’t nearly as dramatic as it sounds—no injuries, no damage to the train engine or railcars, just a few tons of steel resting off track.

The incident, which happened shortly after 4 p.m., prompted temporary traffic delays and detours as crews responded. Fortunately, by 8 p.m., the train was safely realigned and everything was back in motion. Winscott Road is now fully open in both directions.

This is a developing story, and we’ll keep you posted as more information rolls in. For now, the rails are clear and Benbrook is back on track.
