Another power outage in Benbrook’s Westpark area has residents questioning why the neighborhood seems to be losing electricity so frequently.
One resident described the outages as feeling like a weekly occurrence, while another suggested overgrown tree limbs near power lines could be contributing to the problem.
The resident recalled similar issues several years ago, noting that trees growing too close to electrical lines can cause repeated outages and sometimes create fire hazards.
Oncor, the area’s electricity provider, trims vegetation around power lines when necessary, although that work focuses on maintaining safe clearance rather than shaping trees for appearance.
The cause of the latest reported outage has not been confirmed, and it’s unclear how many homes were affected.
Residents experiencing outages can report them or check restoration updates through Oncor’s outage website or by calling 888-313-4747.
