Waverly Park Elementary has a short school week, but October still has plenty ahead for Tiger families.
Students attend classes through Wednesday before beginning an extended fall break. There will be no school Thursday, Oct. 8, Friday, Oct. 9, or Monday, Oct. 12; students return Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Meanwhile, the school’s Trunk-or-Treat Candy Drive continues through Oct. 28, with the two classes collecting the most candy earning a class party. Families, staff, and community members are also being sought to decorate trunks, hand out candy, and volunteer during Waverly Park’s annual Trunk-or-Treat.
Later this month, the school will host its Book Fair Oct. 19 through 23, followed by PTA Math Night and Book Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The evening will include math activities in the cafeteria and book fair shopping in the library. Both are free and open to everyone.
