Benbrook Library Hiring Part-Time Assistant.

If you have ever wondered what it is like to work behind the desk at the Benbrook Public Library, there is an opening to find out.

The library is accepting applications for a part-time library assistant through Oct. 5. The position pays $17 an hour for 30 hours per week, with a schedule that includes daytime, evening, and Saturday hours.

The job puts the new hire right in the middle of daily library life, helping patrons at the information desk, checking materials in and out, shelving books, processing holds, answering phones, and helping visitors create library cards or find what they need.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, with some college preferred, along with proven customer service experience. The library says it is looking for someone energetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable helping people.

Benefits include paid time off after 90 days and short-term and long-term disability coverage.
