A new face is ready to make an impact at TCU.
As the countdown to the 2026-27 women’s basketball season continues, TCU is introducing fans to its newest Horned Frogs through its “The Intro” video series. The latest spotlight is on Avery Hjelmstad, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard from Edmond, Oklahoma, who transfers to Fort Worth after playing at Utah.
Raised in a basketball family, Hjelmstad says countless driveway games helped shape her competitive edge. On the court, she’s known as a versatile scorer who can knock down three-pointers, create in the mid-range, and finish at the rim. Now, she’s looking forward to taking the next step in her career while wearing purple.
