Looking for a way to help your future babysitter gain confidence and valuable life skills? Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness in Willow Park is offering its Safe Sitter program this summer for young adolescents ages 11 and older.
The medically based, one-day course prepares students to care for infants and children safely while building confidence for their first babysitting jobs. Participants will learn CPR basics, choking rescue, first aid, injury prevention, child development, behavior management, personal safety, and the responsibilities of running a babysitting business.
The class will be offered on:
- Wednesday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Classes will be held in the 3rd Floor Community Room at Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness, 101 Crown Pointe Blvd., Willow Park.
Organizers say the program helps students develop practical childcare skills, emergency preparedness, personal responsibility, and introductory employment skills, all while giving parents added peace of mind.
