The May calendar has officially arrived at the Benbrook Senior Citizens Center, and it is packed with everything from bingo nights and breakfast outings to dominoes, card games, and local day trips.
Located inside Benbrook City Hall, the Senior Citizens Center continues to serve as one of the city’s steady gathering places for connection, conversation, and community throughout the week.
Regular weekly activities include Bridge, Canasta, MahJongg, Mexican Train Dominoes, Hand and Foot, and more. The May lineup also features special events like Birthday Bingo on May 6, a breakfast outing to Cracker Barrel on May 13, and a field trip later in the month to Heim Barbecue on the River.
Several activities require advance registration, including the breakfast outing, May Flowers Rock Painting event, and the month-end field trip.
Sometimes the best part of a community calendar is not the event itself. It is simply having a place to go where people know your name when you walk through the door.
The Benbrook Senior Citizens Center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Residents with questions can contact Cathy Connelly at CConnelly@benbrook-tx.gov.
