Benbrook Library Looking for Teen Volunteers for Summer Reading Program.

โ€ข

Every summer, the Benbrook Public Library becomes a little louder, a little busier, and a lot more fun.

Behind much of that energy are teen volunteers helping keep the Summer Reading Program running smoothly, and now the library is getting ready for another season by opening sign-ups for its volunteer orientations.

The Summer Reading Program runs from May 29 through August 1, and library leaders say it would not be possible without the students who show up ready to help.

Volunteers ages 12 and up are invited to attend one of two orientation sessions where they will learn everything needed to support this yearโ€™s program. That includes meeting other volunteers, getting trained on summer reading games, learning about prizes and promotions, and understanding how their time helps create a memorable experience for younger readers and families across Benbrook.

Orientation dates are set for May 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. and May 9 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Students interested in volunteering can register through the SignUpGenius here: https://tinyurl.com/3xm2eatz. For teens looking for a way to stay involved this summer, this might be more than volunteer hours. It could be where some of their best summer memories begin.

Additional summer events and library programming can be found at https://benbrooklibrary.org/events/month. Benbrook Public Library is located at 1065 Mercedes Street in Benbrook. For more information, visit https://benbrooklibrary.org, email reference@benbrooklibrary.org, or call 817-249-6632.
