Lady Cougar Hoops Show Fight on the Road.

The Western Hills Lady Cougars entered Tuesday night looking to end a six-game skid, carrying a 1-13 record and still searching for momentum in district play.

Wins have been hard to come by this season, but effort has not been in question. Week after week, the Lady Cougars continue to show up with resolve and a commitment to compete.

That determination showed on the road against Carter-Riverside Lady Eagles. Unlike several lopsided results earlier this year, Tuesday’s matchup stayed within reach.

The Lady Cougars battled to keep things close and made the Lady Eagles work for every point, offering a glimpse of progress even as the final minutes slipped away.

When the clock expired, though, the Lady Cougars fell 38-26. The loss moved them to 1-14 overall and 0-3 in district play, but the performance reflected a team that is continuing to push forward despite the standings.

There is little time to dwell. The Lady Cougars returns home Friday night to host the Dunbar Lady Wildcats at 7:30 pm, another opportunity to build on the fight shown Tuesday and keep growing as the season moves on.
