If you were anywhere near I-30 at Chapel Creek, chances are you were stuck in it. All eastbound lanes came to a standstill as crews worked to clear a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi and several cars.
Westbound drivers didn’t fare much better. Traffic crawled for miles, with some residents calling it one of the worst slowdowns they’ve seen in a while.
Frustrated drivers were quick to point fingers at the Texas Department of Transportation, blaming ongoing construction mismanagement and poor signage for the chaos. Some even shared past accident stories tied to similar roadwork issues along the Fort Worth-to-Weatherford stretch.
While cleanup crews moved as quickly as possible, many are asking the bigger question: why does it keep happening here? And why does it always seem to hit hardest during peak hours?
For now, it’s another reminder to check traffic updates before heading out, and maybe have a little extra patience stashed in your glove box.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates as they are made available to the public.
