Early Morning Dispute Turns Deadly Near Benbrook.

A heated dispute turned tragic early Friday morning just outside Benbrook when a man was run over and killed in the 5300 block of McCart Avenue.

Fort Worth police arrived on the scene around 6:12 a.m. and found the victim unresponsive. Fire and EMS crews immediately started CPR, but the man later died at the hospital.

Officers arrested 55-year-old Charles Williams at the scene. He now faces several charges, including intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and possession of marijuana. He remains in Fort Worth police custody awaiting transfer to the Tarrant County Jail.

For Benbrook residents, it’s a sobering reminder of how quickly things can escalate. What began as a dispute ended in a devastating loss.
